The world's last surviving steam-powered herring drifter steamed back to Great Yarmouth for the first time in many years on Saturday 15th May 2010. Steam drifters once filled the harbours as they worked down from Scotland following the Herring. Lydia Eva was, unusually, also capable of trawling outside the herring season. Now open for visitors seven days a week, between May and October.

The Kings Arms is an old hostelry with a modern outlook set in a conservation area of Northgate Street. Situated a stones throw away from the Market Place and adjacent to St Nicholas Church. The Kings Arms has a large bar area with a small but cosy restaurant serving light snacks to home cooked favourites. It boasts a large beer garden with a sheltered patio area for that cool drink in the sun or some alfresco dining
